Laura H. Wheaton
Overview And Experience
Laura Wheaton works with clients to solve a variety of legal issues in both state and federal court, focusing on areas such as creditor’s rights and bankruptcy, commercial law, insurance defense, and appellate practice.
Prior to joining Brown Rountree, Laura clerked for the Honorable John F. Nangle of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
While working with Judge Nangle, Laura assisted with appellate panels in both the Eleventh and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Laura graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2002 and was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review.
Laura is actively involved in the community and currently serves as the President of the Friends of the Henderson Library at Georgia Southern University. She has also taught business law courses at Georgia Southern, and is a member of Leadership Bulloch class of 2011. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and sits on the Bishop’s Canon Law Committee for the Diocese of Georgia.
